AUDITION DECEMBER 2006
Night tour, Cork City Gaol, Sunday's Well.
Structure:
The tour for the audience will be conducted 8pm to 9.15.(Subject to seasonal change.)
For the actor this time is extended.
Warm up and deroling make it 7.45-9.30. (This remains a mandatory part of performance.)
Wardrobe and make-up make it (approx.) 7.30-9.45.
Call is 7pm for first performance. The building must be clear by 10pm.
We are currently taking open auditions on the 8th and 9th of December-on site.
Friday 11-4 and 6-9
Sat 11-5.
Adult actors of all ages, male and female, should apply and your audition will be kept on file with the company for future productions.
Please provide a CV and Photograph if you wish to detail extensive experience or training.
A digital photograph will be taken at your audition.
Experience is not essential for this production.
This particular production will run as a theatrical, site specific, night tour of Cork City Gaol. The performance will run every Thursday Friday and Saturday night beginning Thurs 1st February 2006. It will continue for four months minimum.
At audition each actor will be required to complete a form stating availability for rehearsal and performance.
We estimate rehearsal time to be approximately 70 hours. This begins and is inclusive of Sat 16th and Sunday 17th of December 10am to 5pm. Rehearsal will then resume following the Christmas period on the 7th or 8th of January. This date and the rehearsal schedule will be fixed by the 17th of December once casting has been completed.
The rehearsal method will include improvisation as the tour itself needs to be kept alive over a long term period and we hope to develop many scenes that will not be scripted until after the fact. To this end the script will be issued over the christmas period and actors are expected to be off book by the first day of rehearsal after christmas. On this day, and this day only, line drills will be executed.
We are not in a position to pay rehearsal fees but each performance night each actor will be paid 30 euro.
A minimum of four weeks performance commitment is expected. At audition you must make clear what night(s) of performance and for what time period you can be contracted to.
We are very happy to audition actors for future reference but please advise us that this is what you are doing. Refusal following casting will do your file no favours.
